No, but not because it is a bad report *per se* - it is a report done in the style it was no doubt expected and required to be done in. In my mind, when I see that now, I absolutely despair though (the same goes for the legal challenge i asked your opinion on earlier in case it's just me despairing all over the place by myself)…because it feels to me that we are metaphorically stepping from linear flat pastures with predictable things one can measure, into chaotic world of complex systems, war and increasing inequity, but on slightly too long a time scale for us to experience it as panic that will cause us to act. This type of report disappoints me enourmously, because it is done in the same way as all its predecessors, and everything is measured in monetary and time values.
Not life. Not adaptability or resilience. Not in terms of how people actually feel self worth or progression in jobs. Nothing about centering deep equity in organisations and changing g our ways of working and Ikowing (for that we must do to address inequity, racism, legacy trauma etc).. this is because I have read an awful lot on what we should do and never see anyone doing it. It's difficult and messy and tasks don't get done in a Gant-chart styleeee
System change is essential for what faces us next, and system change is like fractal geometry - it must be implemented on every level in ways of working. Hence my insanity re LLMs and SDGs etc. Defo talk systems with AD.
We have never ever stuck to ANY linear future targets either, so why set them? COP1 was held due to it being an emergency…
The Stern Review uses stronger phraseology several years ago than Gov plans do now, and LLMs will not use strong language at all. The more we keep reducing things to finance and numbers, the more wrong everything is.
That is why I am arguing for the inclusion of lived experience in police AI (a massive evidence gap)
